2019-05-05 · Overall, my first time backpacking the Appalachian Trail was an incredible experience and I’m eager to add more miles and more nights to my repertoire. I couldn’t have done it without Stephen pushing me along the way, telling me stories to keep my mind occupied whenever I started thinking too much about how tired I was or how much further the summit was. Thru hiking the Appalachian Trail takes a lot of time and money. The opportunity to do so often relies on a big change in your life that allows for a gap between phases (ex: graduating college, retiring, changing jobs). Most of us are not willing to drop a good job and leave our loving families behind for a whole six months unless the time is right.
